From spartan beginnings in 1979 the Eagles Baseball Club has grown, all due to the dedication and hard work of its members, from the foundation members to those who carry Eagles in their hearts today. In 1991 Eagles members built the current back nets and fencing for Newey Field. Over the years successive Eagles members have worked to add extra fencing, strong weather-proof dugouts and superior scorers’ huts. Newey Field has grown to be one of the premier diamonds in Sunraysia through the efforts of Eagles members. Newey Field has intentionally been developed over the to be aesthetically pleasing and blend into the local council’s vision of the area; free of gaudy signs and advertising.

One simple sign displays the proud name of “Newey Field” in honour of the Newey family.
